About SSNZ Coaching
Welcome to Snow Sports Coaching New Zealand, a division of Snow Sports New Zealand (SSNZ).
After a number of years in planning, Snow Sports Coaching NZ is finally here, supporting the development of Kiwi snow sport athletes through the education of their coaches.
The coaching initiative is a cooperative between Snow Sports NZ, Sport NZ and the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance (NZSIA). Snow Sports NZ provides the principal guidance and structure for this initiative. They are supported by the NZSIA in providing administration for the Coach Development Programme (CDP) and helping deliver elements of the on-snow sport-specific education. Read more about the organisation’s structure.
The CDP is the development pathway for all snow sport coaches. The programme includes sport-specific and sports-generic coaching education. As a coach moves through the CDP they will attain qualifications relevant to their level. There are currently three stages in the CDP, Entry-level Coach, Performance Coach and High-performance Coach (in development).
Our Mission
Snow Sports Coaching NZ is committed to the educating and skill-development for all coaches in six different competitive snow sport disciplines: ski racing, freeskiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing speed skiing and adaptive snow sports.
We endeavor to support and guide the entire coaching and athlete development life cycle from junior through to elite-level athletes.
