NZ Coach Level Two
This is the last course in the second stage of ski or snowboard coaching in New Zealand. It is designed to prepare and assess Coaches in their effectiveness at coaching regionally competitive level athletes. Those trying to gain the Performance Coach level should specialise in either Ski Racing, Freeskiing or Snowboarding.
NZ Ski Coach Level Two – Race
This course is designed to train and qualify coaches in Alpine Skiing up to the FIS level in New Zealand.
The eight day course is centered around improving candidates ability to coach both one-off sessions, as well as longer-term development with a team of competitive ski athletes. It covers three main disciplines including Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G.
Candidates will be assessed on their session planning, analysis, course setting, presentation and overall coaching, knowledge of FIS rules, and skiing ability. Candidates will be expected to coach for both Slalom and Giant Slalom disciplines.
To attend this course you should have experience as a competitive athlete, preferably in ski racing, and have achieved all the SSNZ Performance Coaching Generic Modules.

Pre-requisites: Candidates should have experience as a competitive athlete, preferably in ski racing. They must have previously achieved all SSNZ Entry-level Coach standards and have completed the SSNZ Performance Coach Generic Modules.
Why take this course: As the final step in the Performance Coach level, this is the minimum standard you should be aiming for if you would like to pursue a career as a professional Ski Race Coach.

NZ Ski Coach Level Two – Freeski
This course is designed to train and qualify coaches in park and pipe skiing.
The five day course is centered around improving candidates ability to coach both one-off sessions, as well as longer-term development with a team of competitive freeski athletes. It covers all three main freeskiing disciplines including Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air.
Candidates will be assessed on their knowledge, session planning, group handling and presentation skills, as well as their own skiing ability. Candidates will be given the task of presenting a particular skill or progression to the rest of the group whilst under assessment. Every candidate will be expected to present more than once during the week.
To attend this course you should have experience as a competitive athlete, preferably in freeskiing, and have achieved all the SSNZ Performance Coaching Generic Modules.

This five day course is centered around improving candidates ability to coach one-off sessions, as well as longer-term development with a snowboard group or team. It covers all four main snowboard disciplines including Board Cross, Giant Slalom, Slopestyle and Halfpipe.
Candidates will be assessed on their knowledge, session planning, group handling and presentation skills, as well as their own riding ability. Candidates will be given the task of presenting a particular skill or progression to the rest of the group whilst under assessment. Every candidate will be expected to present more than once during the week.
